Each year, Crissy Field Center honors a group of Bay Area individuals or groups whose actions have made a positive impact on the environment. Hear the award winners share their inspiring stories and learn how the power of one individual or grassroots group can bring about lasting change in the community.
Learn About Your Local Community Heroes
Every year the Crissy Field Center celebrates San Francisco Bay environmental heroes. Groups and individuals are eligible for nominations. Community Heroes Award Ceremony event is open to the public and presents an amazing opportunity to learn more about issues and solutions to local environmental problems. Their stories are featured on our website and displayed in a year-long exhibit at the Crissy Field Center.

SELF-GUIDED ADVENTURE SERIES (AVAILABLE BEGINNING MARCH 17, 2009)
Are you interested in bringing your class or group to Crissy Field? Sign up your class for the Crissy Field Center Adventure Series and lead your students in a hike around the marsh. Students are challenged to think critically about urban environmental issues by working through a series of activities in a free self-guided booktet. There are four topics to choose from --Talkin' Trash, Divers-ology, The Water Around You, and Getting There Green. Guides are 1-2.5 hours in length and designed for middle school student but can be adapted for other age groups as well.
