Inmate Cap - USP Alcatraz
A-169Regular price $16.95
Regulation 30: Caps are never worn in the cell house. Upon entering the cell house, remove your cap and walk directly and quietly to your cell.
Convicts at Alcatraz wore white cotton caps similar to those worn by longshoremen and other laborers during the 1930s. These caps were the only authorized headgear for prisoners, and could be worn at work and in the recreation yard, but never inside the prison.
This inmate cap is based on an original in the collection of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, catalog number: GOGA 18463.
