Whistle - USP Alcatraz

Whistle blasts also directed inmates to come to attention, stop work, start moving, and other commands. Token - Alcatraz Commissary
O-919Regular price $5.95
This 50 cent token dates from the early 1900s when Alcatraz Island served as a U.S. military prison, and was used by soldiers and their families for making purchases at the island's Post Exchange (PX). An original Alcatraz PX token was found several years ago in a tidepool at the south end of the island, and is now stored in the museum collection of the Golden Gate National Parks. Dented and worn, the token had lost much of its detail after being washed around in the bay for decades. This replica was recreated to show the token in its original condition.

Celebrate nature with an award-winning Redwood Forest Fog Globe.
Our unique, hand-painted globes are inspired by the beauty of Coastal California's old-growth redwood forests and the swirling, life-giving fog they depend on. Each globe is packaged in an attractive gift box, which contains information on the monumental coast redwood (Sequoia sempervirens), the planet's tallest tree species. These majestic trees, which can live more than 2,000 years, grow only in a 450-mile swath primarily along the California coast, and survive the region's dry summer months by capturing fog in their needles.
